  <title>On Being the &quot;Helpful&quot; Neighbor</title>
  <link>http://malinoke.livejournal.com/531.html</link>
<description>&lt;p&gt;One of the many wonderful qualities that Brian possesses is his selflessness.&amp;nbsp; He is always wracked with guilt if he can&apos;t go out of his way to help someone he barely knows, or, more often than not, doesn&apos;t know at all.&amp;nbsp; I&apos;m happy to say the longer I&apos;m with him the more that quality rubs off on me (that&apos;s what she said).&amp;nbsp; Tonight Brian and I participated in the very selfless act of helping our neighbor&apos;s new roommate move into the apartment next door.&amp;nbsp; We found out about the move approximately 5 minutes before it happened and we put on our sturdy sneakers to go out and lend a hand.&amp;nbsp; And believe me when I say I don&apos;t plan to do that ever again.&amp;nbsp; It&apos;s not because of the effort behind helping someone move their worldly possessions up and or down stairs, or the fact that I don&apos;t know this person and now I&apos;m holding a box of her underwear, or even that it was raining and muddy.&amp;nbsp; No, the simple truth of this new revelation is the following: I now know who sleeps on the other side of our bedroom wall.&amp;nbsp; Enough said.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
